It probably didn’t work in their favour that I had eaten at Delfina, Nopa and Zuni Cafe in a span of a week before dining here. Before making reservations I took a glance at their online menu and already found in unpromising - but I gave it a try anyway. Compared to these restaurants, Salt House lacks in both the creativity and flavour that these restaurants carry out in their simple yet delicious dishes. I applaud Salt House for using seasonal ingredients, but besides the corn soup everything else was overly salted and bland. The most disappointing dish of the night was the poutine - Salt House gave this Canadian favourite absolutely no justice.

Prices are steep here. Be prepared.
